Bay of Kotor picture and Alexey Nikolayevich Timoshenko

Bay of Kotor

An old picture from my first travel to Montenegro. This travel is notable for me for the invitation to go there made to me by one of my favorite artists  – Alexey Nikolayevich Timoshenko.

As far back as I was at school I could see his paintings in his studio and to watch how he is working. It is his artworks that my first significant impression from painting is connected with, especially with the color in his artworks. I was astonished how the combination of the emerald and the violet formed the sky blue color. From this travel Alexey Nikolayevich became my immediate tutor. For me, surely, to paint side by side with him was a great happiness: to see how he is painting, adopt his experience which turned out to be a precious gift for me. Influence which he exerted on my professional development is tremendous and invaluable.
