“Twitter art exhibition”. 2016, New York
“July”. Watercolor. 12х16cm.
This postcard I had painted for the great annual event: Twitter Art Exhibition.
Painters from all over the world, who have an account in Twitter send their own postcards. People can buy them right at the exhibition. The profit is invested in a charity project. The exhibition each year happens in a new town and in a new country. This year the exhibition had taken place in New York.
More than 900 artists from all over the world had participated.
The opening evening was attended by many visitors. The organisers aired an on-site translation, which I was listening as a background at my home at Moscow. There was no silence for the whole evening, as the crowd was very avid. And, surely, there was an intrigue who will be the first to buy a postcard he loves.
I was amazed when my postcard was bought at the opening by the artist Raeburn, whom I know via Twitter. It’s so astonishing: I had sent a postcard on the other side of the planet, and it was bought for a collection by I person I know.
This beauty received a lot of attention last night at #TwitterArtExhibit
Very happy to add it to my art collection. https://t.co/CLfGZcJBDg— Raeburn10025 (@Raeburn10025) 1 апреля 2016 г.
